Episode 5 Posted on: November 1, 2012 | 496 views In this week’s episode of Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai!, the “Far Eastern Magic Nap Society of Summer” is placed in turmoil due to Rikka‘s failure of her mid-term math exam. The club members participated(some involuntarily) in various endeavors in order to overturn the teachers’ decision in closing down the sanctuary for magical lunatics. But will their efforts pay off? Members of the “Far Eastern Magic Nap Society of Summer” begin to settle inside their clubroom. However, Rikka and Yuuta returns with bad news. Despite doing well in her other subjects, Rikka did not have an affinity for mathematics and failed her math exam terribly in the mid-term. Their homeroom teacher warns them that if Rikka is to fail the final exam, she’ll be forced to have their club dismembered. Thus, it was time to hit the books for Rikka. However, even with Yuuta‘s help, she was too absorbed in her delusional ways to make much progress. Sanae, Kumin and a trip to the shrine did little to make the situation any better. With studying alone as a futile option, Rikka proposes that the club members engage in some volunteer work in order to boost its reputation so that it’d be worthy enough to remain active. They were tasked to clean the school pool. However, Sanae‘s idiocy as well as Rinka stubbornness turns their volunteer efforts into disaster. Not only did it make the club’s reputation worse, but the stakes become higher as Rikka not only has to pass the next exam, but to also be above the class average. Now left with no other option, Rikka goes back to studying for the exam. Despite being aware of the dire situation she’s in, Rikka still has difficulty concentrating. Having seeing her express devotion to the club members, Yuuta decided to help her study with all his might. He strikes a deal with her in the event she gets above the class average, he’ll come up with a magical email handle. On the day of the exam, Rikka becomes distracted by her delusion of trying to get the answers with her mystical powers. Fortunately, everyone else in class didn’t do so well and Rikka just barely passed the class average. As promised, she received the email handle, “Black Riasin detre” meaning “Dark Reason for Existence”.
