Bakuman 2 Episode 18 Posted on: February 5, 2012 | 177 views Recap: In order to improve their chances in succeeding at the next serialization meeting, Ashirogi Muto and Miura refines their plan of introducing a new rival into ‘Tanto’. Meanwhile, Hattori discusses ‘Natural”s serialization with Iwase and revealed the artist assigned to her manuscript to be a person called ‘MONEYS’. While heading home one night, Takagi encounters Iwase, who epressesed her intention of competing with him in the upcoming serialization and requests his acknowledgement once she becomes successful. Takagi agreed but also revealed that he’d be marrying Kaya once he gets serialized himself, leading to Iwase challenging him to revoke his decision if she receives better results than him. However, Iwase’s words falls on deaf ears. Despite his prior confidence, Miura was immersed with doubt while awaiting the results of the serialization meeting. The higher ups at the meeting discovered something peculiar in regards to the manuscript for ‘Natural’ and called for Hattori and Yujiro to verify the identity of the artist, ‘MONEYS’ as Eiji Nizuma. The matter of concern involves Eiji doing two series at once, but at the same time ‘Natural’ seemed quite interesting, which outweighed the former. And so the conclusion of the meeting decided that ‘Natural’ will go ahead with serialization, to the outrage of several other editors who expressed their concern of hindering new talents from making the cut-off. Fortunately, ‘Tanto’ was also successful for serialization but Miura warned Takagi of them having to compete against ‘Natural’ with Eiji being its artist. Ashirogi Muto and Kaya briefly celebrated ‘Tanto”s serialization and later proceeded with the preparation for Takagi’s meeting with Kaya’s father in regards to the marriage proposal. Mashiro informed Fukuda of Eiji’s second serialized work, who later on expressed his outrage towards Yujiro. A meeting was held involving the members of team Fukuda, however, Iwase, disgusted over having to share opinions with others leaves shortly after arriving. The rest of the members questioned Eiji over his involvement in ‘Natural’. Eiji refused to falter despite the criticisms and declares that he’d not lose with either ‘Crow’ nor ‘Natural’. Impression I can’t say things will get anymore exciting now that ‘Tanto’ becomes serialized. Nakai’s abrupt departure still lingers in my memory, but I doubt anyone cared about him despite his absence at team Fukuda’s meeting. They said that Iwase was just like how Aoki was when they first met her, but I’d say Iwase was even more prideful than Aoki ever was. Well, for the time being her only exception with that attitude was towards Hattori, which I doubt will last for long. I noticed that we’re getting less and less scenes with Miho. Her relationship with Mashiro is one of the main reasons why I still follow the series in both the manga and the anime. I’d hoped the anime would do something that would be more exclusion in comparison to the manga, but it looks like that has yet to happen. With Miura still Ashirogi Muto’s editor I doubt there will be miracles any time soon in regards to their serialization.
