Ano Natsu de Matteru Episode 5 Posted on: February 7, 2012 | 241 views Recap: Kaito awakens one morning, only to realize it was the first day of summer vacation. Following his intimate moment with Ichika being interrupted by the appearance of Remon as well as the other film club members, everyone was set to start shooting for their proposed film that day. Apparently, Remon had already come up with the story for the day, which, was flexible enough to allow for improvisation. To Ichika’s surprise, it’s a story about an alien that became stranded on her (identical to her situation). The first scene had Tetsurou posed as a ‘man-in-black’ sent to capture the alien and Ichika’s acted as if it was actually happening. A later scenes showed Kaito as the one taking in the alien at his home, reminiscing the actual event that took place shortly after Ichika’s arrival on earth. Kanna witnesses the scene and became deep in thought in regards to Ichika and Kaito’s relationship. This prompted her to ask Ichika about her thoughts on the development of her character with Kaito’s after the filming had ended for the day. Later that night, Ichika asked Kaito about being in a relationship with someone from another planet, to which, he answered by saying that he wouldn’t mind. Filming was to continue the following day, however, it was hindered by bad weather. Kanna decided to pay Kaito a visit and had lunch together with him and Ichika. Later on, while Kaito was filming a natural discussion between Ichika and Kanna, Kanna asked Ichika how long she intends to stay at Kaito’s residence, resulting in silence. Kanna leaves before Ichika could give a proper response. Kanna makes her way home in the rain while deeply saddened by the development between Ichika and Kaito. Tetsurou finds her on the advice of Mio and he tries to comfort her. As the rain subsides, Kanna ultimately resolves to live life as normal from that moment onwards. Tetsurou makes an abrupt appearance at Kaito’s residence on the evening of the same day. While filming a footage of Kaito, Tetsurou revealed Kanna’s crush on him. Ichika overhears the revelation outside Kaito’s bedroom. Impression I was actually startled after watching the preview of this episode last week about Ichika being discovered as an alien. Luckily, it was nothing more than being part of Remon’s bizarre composition (at least for now). The events in the episode reminded me of the The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Second Season, where the film made by the SOS was coincidentally based on reality. Although, I knew something of this nature was going to happen but the similarities were so prominent that it became difficult to overlook. Teturou’s surprise revelation to Kaito that Kanna had a crush on him was another major highlight of the episode. Although, I cannot comprehend what he hoped to achieve by doing that while he himself has a crush on Kanna, I’m sure that this would result in some interesting developments later on in the series. It’s obvious at this point that Ichika’s feelings for Kaito are becoming stronger. How these feeling come in to play towards the finale is something to consider. It looks like we will have a beach episode next week. From what was shown, I won’t be expecting a cliffhanger at its conclusion. Unless they decide to put in a huge shark to crash their party.
